We are just completing a swimming pool and not sure what will be the most cost efficient way to heat it. We have converted the bottom ring of a slurry store so we have a round pool. The main body of the pool inside the ring, is rendered concrete block and will be insulated.

We do not have access to Natural Gas, so a boiler will have to be powered either by Propane or Oil. The volume of the pool will be approximately 11,000 gallons and the diameter of the pool is 7 metres, and 1.3 metres deep.

We have looked at Certikin oil boilers (180,000 btu) and are now looking at the Laars LX gas boiler (250,000 btu).

Are we looking at the right size boiler? How do you heat your pool?

Hi

I am actually not fortunate enough to have a pool to heat!!!!

Would recommend that you go for the Teledyne Laars 125 £1,199.00. Propane gas. This will come with appropriate stack (state indoor or outdoor) but you will need to order the required flue work. Your installer can advise.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply Maddie. That is the route we have gone down, but decided to go for the Laars LX.

The boiler is being commissioned at the end of the month. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we will have a lovely warm pool to jump into! :)
