cloudy water

I opened up my pool for the summer 3 weeks ago and have done everthing i had done the year before. IE shock chorline vacuum to waste backwash and rinse, but still have very cloudy water which is a nice blue colour at the top but cant see the bottom of the pool. I am at my wits end please help

Hi Chaz

Sounds like the Cyanuric Acid level in your pool is too high. When this happens it actually prevents the Chlorine from working. Although it is not harmful, obviously it needs sorting out.

The best thing to do is drain the pool to about half way, refill and then start again with shock treatment first and then proceed as before with Stabilised Chlorine and Balancers.
