I am looking to install an above ground 6.57m x 3.70 wooden pool. My plan is to install this inground, I hope someone is able to answer my questions as follows;

1. How deep does the concrete base need to be (a truck will not reach so I am having to mix manually!)?

2. Once inground do I simply backfill the wooden surround with soil and would it help insultation if I covered the wood with polystyrene prior to backfilling?

3. Accessing a mains drain may not be possible at a reasonable cost, are there other means, ie running a long hose to the drain when required or soakaway - I am unsure how much water I am likely to expell on a regular basis?

Kind regards
Kevin.

Most manufacturers recommend around a 6" base.

You are ok to insulate the pool from the outside, and to a certain extent backfill with soil but where budgets allow I would backfill with pea-shingle.

The wooden pool will come complete with a sand filter which will give you the option to lose water through either "Backwash" or "Waste". This waste line comes as standard at around 25' long in some cases, but you buy it in pretty much any length you require.
