Can any body help. We moved into a house a couple of years ago wich had a delapidated liner pool. We replaced boiler and liner which was fine last year, however this year we have noticed that the liner itself has a rough feel, it appears to be a sand colur where the roughness is located. Standard vaccum and light brushing have not removed.
Appreciaate any idead

Hi Paul,
This sounds like a classic case of scale build up.
You need to check your Ph and adjust it to 7.4.
Also test your Total Alkalinity, this you should try and get down to 80ppm.
The scale can be scrubbed off, but obviously you need to be careful not to damage the liner.
If this was my pool, and I could bypass the heater (to stop errosion of the heat exchanger), I would drop the ph down to below 6.5, and let the scale re-disolve back into suspension.
If you’re going on holiday this is a good time to do this.
You should take a sample of water to your local pool dealer, and get your TDS (total dissolved solids) checked as well, you may be suffering from lack of dilution! More back washes?
Hope this helps
