Hi all, thinking of wrapping 16x10 splasher pool in 25mm thick polystyrene sheets, (Hoping to reduce heat loss via pool walls)
Anyone any advice on insulation or what adhesive to use with polystyrene sheets
Thanks in advance, Laura.

No replies needed, but thanks for not bothering anyway :p
Went ahead and tied sheets onto pool with elastic cord, superb increase in
temp, 88 degrees instead of 80/82 using heater same length of time :)
(Tried coving adhesive first, but almost dried on contact with pool wall)
Laura, basking in her own success :D

Laura.
Hi Laura,
Sorry no one got back to you! It’s been frantic, and I for one have been hurricane dodging in Florida, anyway, you already know now, that your idea is a great success. The Foam can also be used under the lining, which will reduce heat loss even further.
A useful point to note, is just like a cup of tea, you tend to blow on it to cool it down, so the better/thicker the grade of solar cover you buy the greater the heat retention. On the whole your cover will usually be 200 microns thick, which is the standard cheap & cheerful splasher package grade, but if you upgrade next spring to a 400 or 500 micron, then you will notice even further heat gain and reduced heat loss. As we all now heat rises.
Anyway, sorry for the lack of response :D , if you have any further queries, just let me know.
P.S. on the subject of self praise, I am not sure that we will sell the 10'x16' splasher in 2005, due to it being the hardest pool in history to build! So well done in deed. ;)
All the best
Glan

Hi Glan,
hurricane dodging in Florida, lucky you! smashing place to be even in a hurricane!!!
Splasher is enclosed by a 6m x4m tent, will i still benefit by increasing the grade of solar cover?
Building the splasher was a challenge and praise to all that offered advice ;)
Well worth the effort and every penny spent :D
Intending to use all year round :) if i can solve the Chlorine problem :( (see other post)
thanks,
Laura.
