Water Loss? or Evaporation?

My pool is 24ft x 12 ftx 4ft deep and is in ground. It is a new liner pool and was commissioned this year. It has been loosing water (or so I think) and I have had all the pipes exposed and replaced. When the pump is off the water level is constant, when it is on it appears to loose about 1" in a 24 hr period. It is fitted with a solar cover. Does anyone still think I have a leak and if so where else can I look for it, if its not a leak is it evaporation? It's driving me round the bend, I'm getting paranoid and am dreaming about leaking pools every night. Urgent comments greatfully accepted.

well it seems that you have eliminated most of the problems already. a couple more bits of advice are

- have you checked all the fittings for cracks inside the fitting and around the edge. and are all the screws tight. its generally the return port that has cracked.

- also have you got a valve on the backwash??? sometimes water can be by-passing the multiport and leaking down the backwash and you wont see it because it will be going straight down the drain.

these are the most common hidden leaks. just have a look and let us know if you find anything!!
