we are going to buy one of your mirage pools and are going to sink it in the ground by 30'' is this ok how many gallons of water does a 21'' x 12'' oval pool hold and what size seater do you reccomend
Hi Gina,
All above ground pools can be sunk in the ground, as long as you do not back fill the excavated gap, but if you want to fill the gap behind the pool, you must first fill the pool, then place a plastic membrane sheet around the outside of the pool to protect the wall from scratch/impact damage whilst backfilling, and then in 6" deep rings, concrete the gap between pool and excavated earth. The reason for only doing 6" at a time, and allowing this to set, is that it will not apply adverse pressure to the pool wall.
Around 12 years ago I fitted our first above ground pool(equinox), inground up to the top capping, and slabbed right up to the pool walls. It is still standing, and we replaced the liner around 2 years ago without incident.
The pool volume for a 21' x 12' Oval is around 20,000 litres.
Hope this helps
All the best
Glan
