View Full Version : Fix a Leak
How effective is the above product, in what circumstances is it suitable for, is it suited to finding leaking pipes? I would appreciate an urgent response as my pool is leaking.
thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your enquiry, Fix a leak is a great product, which can plug up holes up to a 1/4" in dia. It is particulary good at plugging leaking concrete pool shells.
You must ensure you follow the instructions on the back of each bottle, and ensure you put your sand filter in the recirculate position to ensure you do not corrupt the sand.

Can Fix a leak be used on pools with liners? If yes, how much would I need for a 24 X 12 pool and how long does it take to work?
Thanks

Hi Glyn,
I would not recommend fix a leak for liner pools. The best thing to do is try and identify the leaks, and apply an underwater patch to seal the hole. This will give you a far more permanent repair.
If you cannot find the holes, you may have to employ a local pool company to use a device called leak track, this unit pumps 24v dc into the water, and then as the water leaks through the holes, the voltage loss can be traced to the exact point. We usually charge around £175 plus vat for a complete pool check, locally.
Hope this helps
